Hello! My name is Laura, welcome to my blog! I write weird stories, collect dragon plushies and stay up too late with my nose in a book. I am a wife, mom and child saved by grace. My hope is that you find encouragement here or at least a smile or too.
    God bless!

We have come from God, and inevitably the myths woven by us, though they contain error, will also reflect a splintered fragment of the true light, the eternal truth that is with God. Indeed only by myth-making, only by becoming 'sub-creator' and inventing stories, can Man aspire to the state of perfection that he knew before the Fall. Our myths may be misguided, but they steer however shakily towards the true harbour, while materialistic 'progress' leads only to a yawning abyss and the Iron Crown of the power of evil.
    ~J.R.R. Tolkien

"The only just literary critic," he concluded, "is Christ, who admires more than does any man the gifts He Himself has bestowed."
    ~J.R.R. Tolkien

“Fantasy is escapist, and that is its glory. If a soldier is imprisioned by the enemy, don't we consider it his duty to escape?. . .If we value the freedom of mind and soul, if we're partisans of liberty, then it's our plain duty to escape, and to take as many people with us as we can!”
    ~J.R.R. Tolkien

"Writers who see by the light of their Christian faith will have, in these times, the sharpest eye for the grotesque, for the perverse, and for the unacceptable. To the hard of hearing you shout, and for the almost-blind you draw large and startling figures."
    ~Flannery O'Connor

You write to communicate to the hearts and minds of others what’s burning inside you. And we edit to let the fire show through the smoke.
    ~Arthur Polotnik

Words - so innocent and powerless as they are, as standing in a dictionary, how potent for good and evil they become in the hands of one who knows how to combine them.
    ~Nathaniel Hawthorne

"There are forms of insanity that condemn people to hear voices against their will, but as writers we invite ourselves to hear voices without relinquishing our hold on reality or our right to control."
    ~Writing Fiction by Janet Burroway

Christians have sometimes been suspicious of stories, because they really can influence you. If you read the Twilight novels once a month for a year, I think you'd be a different human afterward—and not a sparkly one.

Love Notes

Here it is folks.  The latest Ladybug Production vid.

Thank you so much to everyone who sent in a note!  (Pictures of each one are below.)

Hope you enjoy.  Happy Valentine’s Day.

2013 Valentine’s Day Project: “Love Notes”

It’s getting close to Valentine’s day once again, and once again I am making a video in honor of True Love Waits.  This year, I have a much bigger video project planned.

For the benefit of those who might have missed last years video, here it is.

This year I’m planning a scripted live action video and I am very excited about it.  The video is entitled “Love Notes” and what I need from you guys is just that, love notes.

If you would like to participate in this years True Love Waits video write a short love note that will fit on a 3×5 note card to your future spouse (whether you know who they are or not), then either send it to this e-mail – writingforhisglory@gmail.com – or leave it in the comments.

NOTE: I would like to recognize everyone who participates, but if you don’t want your name on YouTube, just let me know and I will leave it out.

This participation is open to everyone, guy, girl, single, in a relationship or married.  The theme is waiting for love, so please have your notes match that theme in some way.

LET YOUR FRIENDS KNOW!  Please pass this on!  Let’s see how many people we can get involved this year.

The deadline to send in your note is January 26th.

Alright peoples!  Share and start writing!

Valentine’s Day: True Love Waits

After waiting patiently he received what was promised. Hebrews 6:15

A huge thank you to everyone who e-mailed me a picture.  You guys made this happen.

Valentines Day Project: I Need YOUR help!

Hello readers!  I am planning a special project to be releaced on Valentines Day and I need your help to make it!

Here is the idea.  I want to me a True Love Waits “gift” video.

Valentines Day can be a difficult day for singles who are still waiting for God to bring that special someone into their lives, so, I wanted to make a video for them.  It will be a special tribute (if you will) to the people who we are waiting for God’s perfect choice and a message for singles this Valentines Day to keep waiting, to stay strong and keep trusting in God’s timing.

If you would like to participate in this project here is what I need you to do.

1. Write a short note to your future spouse.  Something short that can be read quickly.  If you could send that person a message, even though you don’t know who they are, what would it be?  Write out that message.

(EDIT)  Suggestion from another blogger:

Might I suggest that everyone writes one thing for their future spouse, that is original, and then writes another thing that’s the same… e.g. “I will wait for you,” and you could show those one after another… lilacandivy

2. Take a picture of the note.  You can be holding it, or not, it’s up to you.  Make sure you can actually read what it says too.

3. E-mail me the picture along with your name, age and where you are from.  E-mail is, writingforhisglory@gmail.com

(I originally thought of just asking girls to contribute, but guys are welcome to join in. 🙂 )

There are two songs I’m thinking of using for the background music, but I can’t decide which one to use, so, I’ll let you all vote on it.

Song # 1

One Day by Trading Yesterday

A Thousand Year by Christina Perri

I was going to use One Day, then I heard A Thousand Years and fell in love with it.

Please comment if you want to participate and vote on you favorite song!

God bless!
