A Writer’s Soundtrack

I’m one of those writers that likes to write to music.  It helps me get in the mood for whatever scene I am writing and helps me concentrate.

Here is a list of my favorite songs/soundtracks to listen too while I write (and edit :) ).

(Current) Top 4 Soundtracks

1. How to Train You Dragon

Favorite songs

Forbidden Friendship

Test Dive

Downed Dragon

Romantic Flight

Where’s Hiccup?

2.  Avatar

(didn’t like the movie, loved the music)

Favorite songs

Climbing Up Iknimaya – The Path To Heaven

Becoming One Of ”The People” Becoming One With Neytiri

Jake’s First Flight

Gathering All The Na’vi Clans For Battle

3. Two Steps from Hell: Invincible

Favorite songs

Heart of Courage

Undying Love

Protectors of Earth

4.  Last of the Mohicans

(very sad movie, awesome soundtrack)

Favorite songs

Main Theme

River Walk and Discovery

Pieces of a Story

Others

Pirates of the Caribbean: Cures of the Black Pearl

Pirates of the Caribbean:  On Stranger Tides

Knight and Day

Lord of the Rings (all three)

Doctor Who: Series 2, 4, 5 & 6

Master and Commander

Yeah, I listen to allot of music.  Funny thing is, when I get into the zone, I don’t hear it at all.  I’ll usually miss most of what I’m listening to and have to start it all over again. :)

Those are some very awesome soundtracks. … and I do the same thing. I totally phase out. But then I must listen to it AGAIN!!! XD

  2. Nairam says:

I listen to most of those soundtracks. ^.^

Strangely enough, though, the tend to accompany while I do normal school and not when I write. This is partly because the laptop I write on has bad speakers, but mostly because I found it distracting trying to mess around with a “writing soundtrack.”

    I write just as well–probably better–without music. I like quiet. ^.^
